So you wanna be a Frock Star?

Say what?  Today I tried out Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail polish strips.  I'm not sure when they came out but after seeing them on one of my gal pals I decided to give them a try for myself.  Basically they look like stickers that you apply to your nails and are supposed to last up to 10 days.  There is no dry time you just peel and apply!  Each set comes with 16 nail polish strips, a cuticle stick, and mini nail file. I believe these cost about $10 a box and are avaiable in 23 colors/designs.   Anyone that knows me knows that I am a sucker for anything shiny or metallic.  I may just hang a disco ball in my house someday!  Which is why I decided to buy the nail strips in the color Frock Star.  It reminds me of the Deborah Lippmann nail color Happy Birthday. Who doesn't love glitter? I think these strips probably took me longer to put on than if I were to just have painted my nails however there is no dry time which is a huge plus!  We shall see if they live up to their 10 day claim but overall I'm really happy with the results.

My pretty nails!

Come one come all...

Hello and welcome!  You may be wondering why this blog is called The Princess and the Air Mattress...right? Once upon a time after finishing college I had to move back into my parent’s house where thanks to my little sisters I no longer had a bedroom.  Sent to live in the basement like Sloth from the Goonies my sleeping arrangements consisted of an air mattress on the floor.  Flossy!  Perhaps this was my mother’s revenge on me for all my years of teenage angst.  Despite how I was raised, somewhere over the years I acquired a taste for things far beyond my means.  I was always lusting for some designer item that my tanning salon paycheck just wasn’t gonna cover.  Look, I can’t help it that I think I’m J-Lo (I kid, I kid).  My mother began referring to me as The Princess and the Air Mattress.  Although I no longer sleep on an air mattress (I'm now on a hand me down mattress haha) my "wants" are still far beyond my means and I still think I’m a princess :)  I wanted to create this space to share my thoughts, things I love, and maybe some things I "want" but can’t have!  I may  have upgraded my bed but deep down I'm still just The Princess and the Air Mattress.  Happy Blogging!
